Market & Muster Day
This event is held at Washington’s Crossing Historic Park, PA. and is sponsored by the Friends of Washington Crossing Park. It recreates the one day a month that all able-bodied men were required to assemble and practice drilling & marching in order to defend their town or village. It was also a day to sign up for your required duty if you had not done so. For the 5th PA, it is a time to shed the regimental uniform and don civilian attire.
And what’s this, a LOYALIST in our midst!
Arguing his guilt before the local magistrate….
I find him guilty, away with him!
What loyalist?
Successful Crossing 2013!!
We had perfect weather, a bit cold, but clear skies!
For the Christmas Day crossing, as for the dress rehearsal, the advanced guard in the bateau ‘MOON’, as protrayed by the 5th PA, crossed the river first to secure the Jersey side for the troops and his Excellency, Gen. Washington to land. The General and his troops landed to great applause, and celebratory cannon fire!
HUZZAH to Gen. Washington for a successful crossing, and to our C.O. John Godzieba, for once again portraying the good General!
